SuperVite Dog Food Review
With “HAPPY DOG” written in big letters on the front of the bag you’d expect something more than a product with wholegrain cereals and cereal & vegetable by-products being two of the three main ingredients. The ingredients list of this food scream budget, and in our opinion wouldn’t lead to a happy dog based on canine nutrition 101.
The product is made by Hypro, then manufacturers of Meals for Mutts, with this looking to be their cheap and nasty option for those easily led by the low price tag. Question is, are you getting what you pay for when your dog’s health suffers in the long term? Nope, probably not.
The second ingredient is “Real Meat” & Meat By-Products derived from whatever can be sourced cheaply at the time of manufacture. It always amuses me when they use the word “Real”. As opposed to what? “Fake” meat?
16% protein is appalling, and 8% fat isn’t great either. That leaves you with a high carbohydrate kibble, and if your dog doesn’t burn off all those carbs they’ll very likely get fat (and unhealthy).
There isn’t really anything good to say about this food other than it’s cheap. Would I feed it to my dog? Definitely not.
