Nutro Wild Frontier Dog Food Review

Nutro has been on the shelves for a while now with their grain-based foods. Wild Frontier is a new grain-free and high protein food, boasting a decent 32% protein which is a great start. Let’s take a look and see how it compares to other high protein rivals…

Nutro Wild Frontier Dog Food Review

The main ingredients are Chicken and Chicken Meal, which is exactly what we should see making up the bulk of a dog food. Other brands masquerading as “premium” pack their foods with corn and rice, so it’s nice to see Nutro have done it right with this food.

The 3rd ingredient is chickpeas. This is a nice healthy inclusion which will further bulk up the protein, and the higher the protein the lower the carbs – big tick.

In the 4th spot we have another quality meat ingredient, Lamb Meal. Most manufacturers have given up with decent ingredients by this point, so it’s really starting to look like a great food.

The remaining ingredients read very well, with a quality list of vitamins and minerals, superfood alfalfa, sunflower oil, and peas. Many foods simply list “vitamins and minerals” which amounts to a vitamin pack bought from a 3rd party supplier, so it’s nice to see proper inclusions in this food. Seeing chelated minerals is also a sign of a quality food.

Nutro Wild Frontier Dog Food Review

I estimate the carbohydrates in the food to be as little as 32% which is excellent. I’m really impressed with this food. Well done Nutro. This food is up there with the best, and well deserving of 4 stars (it’s a high 4 stars as well).
