06/10/2017 Review updated for new formula.
Australian Natural Health is an offering from Australian company Ivory Coat. It’s great to see decent Australian brands, and Ivory Coat have proved to be a reputable manufacturer.
This review is for Adult Chicken, with other formulas available including low fat and puppy. All formulas are grain free.
The first ingredient in the food is a protein-rich meat ingredient chicken meal, which is what we should be seeing in a food for a carnivorous animal. The protein percentage is above average at 32%, although the peas we find as the second ingredient will largely contribute to this. Peas aren’t a bad ingredient, but when it comes to protein meat will always win hands down as it’s much easier for dogs to digest.
Tapioca is used as a binder and is otherwise a relatively pointless ingredient. They used to use potatoes and sweet potatoes which were a better choice, so it’s a shame they’ve switched to the less nutritious tapioca. At least there’s no corn, wheat, or soy in the food which means this is way above most supermarket offerings.

It’s great to see ground flaxseed, an excellent source of omega 3 and nutritive fibre. Salmon oil is a good choice for both omega 3 and 6 to maintain a healthy, glossy coat. Coconut oil is also great to see which will also help maintain a healthy coat as well as boost the immune system. Common to many high-end foods we find a range of fruits and veggies, vitamins and minerals, to ensure a well-balanced diet. The food uses natural preservatives too which is great to see.
This is a decent food and worth feeding.
If this has helped you please take the time to share it to other Australian pet owners. Thank you 🙂
Where to buy?
Decent meat content and some decent inclusions such as flaxseed, coconut oil, and salmon oil.
Tapioca isn’t great to see, and it has to be noted peas will contribute largely to the protein.
