Canidae are a company I have come to trust. Very rarely do I hear a complaint about the company or their products, which suggests reliability and a good standard of manufacture. Their grain free PURE range is excellent but comes at a premium price, which makes the All Life Stages offering a good option for those on a tighter budget. The 20kg “big bag” goes a long way.

It’s important to note the formula isn’t as prominent in meat as the first three meat ingredients would suggest. It’s possible the first ten ingredients are in fairly equal proportions, which would make a ratio of three meats / five grains / two vegetables (peas and potatoes).

I wouldn’t say any of the ingredients are bad per se, but I would prefer to see more meat in a diet designed for canines. A possible solution for those on a budget would be to feed this as a base diet and supplement it with fresh meats, fish, and offal.

On a positive note, Canidae only use “human grade” ingredients. That’s a really good thing given the lack of standards and quality with pet grade ingredients. This is likely a reason the company has become so reputable over the years as I suspect many issues are caused by pet grade inclusions.

If we delve further into the ingredients we find a whole host of inclusions, each carefully selected for their own individual merit. It would be hard to cover each individually, so to summarise they’re all decent and beneficial.

This is a great choice for those wanting to feed a decent kibble but can’t afford the more premium alternatives. I see this as a decent alternative to other mid-range brands, being similarly priced to Black Hawk.

Recommended, but consider rotating or supplementing with meats.
