Meals for Meows Grain Free

Meals for Meows Grain Free

The original Meals for Meows formula is pretty good, rated a credible 4 stars. The grain free formulation is a welcome addition, substituting brown rice for sweet potato. Due to the similarities please refer to the original formula review as most of the information is applicable.

Sweet potato is one of the best selections for a grain free food, so this is good to see. It’s worth saying brown rice is also a good choice for the grain formula, so the ingredients are consistent between the two. Cats, being carnivores, get little nutrition from such ingredients, but all kibbles need a carbohydrate ingredient to bind the kibble together.

Mackerel and Salmon as the main ingredients are good selections of named fish, offering an excellent source of protein as well as much needed omega fats for wellbeing and coat. Despite common belief, fish isn’t a natural diet for a cat and arguably shouldn’t be fed consistently. It’s worth feeding a fish-based food as part of a rotation, and it’s a good choice for cat’s suffering allergies from other meat sources.

I’ve found Meals for Mutts and Meows to be a good option for pets who’ve suffered allergies from other more commercial foods, and I rarely hear anything negative about their products. They’re an Australian company too, so that’s a bonus.

I’d happily feed this to my cat as part of a rotation. 4 stars.
